About Hank Horkoff

Work
I am currently CEO of Praxis Language where I am primarily responsible for strategy and product development. I co-founded ChinesePod in Sept 2005 and am a big believer in the ability of web & mobile technologies to dramatically improve traditional, classroom learning.

Life
I live in Shanghai, China. To counter-balance some of the daily challenges of living here, I try to spend time on increasing my knowledge of some of the more elegant areas of Chinese culture – currently Chinese language and tea culture.

Education
I am Canadian by birth and am an alumni of both the Richard Ivey School of Business and the University of British Columbia.

Why The Network Sense?
For the past decade I have been fascinated to watch the evolution of web and mobile technologies. I see The Network Sense as a blog chronicle that tracks the evolving development of a sensory addition to the traditional five of sight, hearing, touch, smell and smell. Soon we will all have access to the collective knowledge of past and present mankind, organized and sorted by a Google-like entity, available to be used as a tool to navigate through our daily lives.
